Designed to suit installation over existing timber floors, the REDUC® Micro 21 is a high performance acoustic floating floorboard. The series is capable of damping vibration as well as attenuating both airborne sound and impact noise moving through the floorboards.
The quality performance of REDUC® Micro 21 is created using substrate layers of moisture-resistant MDF and cement-particle board separated by visco-elastic sound damping strips. The underside then incorporates a resilient layer of acoustic felt, which provides mechanical isolation from the floor structure itself.

Boards should be glued together and laid in a brickwork fashion with staggered joints, a perimeter foam edge strip should be fitted around the edge of each room and across the door threshold. The edge foam should then be folded down on to the acoustic flooring with the skirting board then sitting on the edge foam.
The structure and design of the building can have an impact on the performance of all REDUC® Micro 21 boards. To reach their optimum performance levels, the junctions between the separating wall and floor must be detailed perfectly. If there is any incorrect detailing, then the acoustic performance can be affected.
The REDUC® range can be used in almost any space, including kitchens and bathrooms.
