It’s constructed using an upper layer of moisture resistant MDF which is then isolated from a layer of dense cement particle board by visco-elastic sound damping strips. The underside makes use of a resilient layer of acoustic felt, which then in turn provides mechanical isolation from the existing floor structure.
The moisture resistant upper surface means that REDUC® Strata Extra can be used throughout the building in both kitchens and bathrooms, whilst the acoustic felt on the underside will easily contour over any irregularities in the surface of the floor being treated.

Boards should be glued together and laid in a brickwork fashion with staggered joints, a perimeter foam edge strip should be fitted around the edge of each room and across the door threshold. The edge foam should then be folded down on to the acoustic flooring with the skirting board then sitting on the edge foam.
The structure and design of the building can have an impact on the performance of all REDUC ® Strata Extra boards. To reach their optimum performance levels, the junctions between the separating wall and floor must be detailed perfectly. If there is any incorrect detailing, then the acoustic performance can be affected.
The REDUC ® range can be used in almost any space, including kitchens and bathrooms.
