REDUC® SoundMat has been designed to reduce both airborne sound and impact noise transmission through both new and existing timber joisted floors and can also act as a compensating layer of sound insulation when used to replace carpets with hard floor finishes such as laminates.
It is largely designed for use on concrete floors to help improve impact noise, however it could be used to reduce impact noise on timber floor constructions. When overlaid with T+G chipboard SoundMat could also be used under laminate wood floors.
It’s suitable for both building extensions and loft conversions, as well as any project where sound insulation needs to be improved without the need to comply with the building regulations. It is suitable for use at standard building temperatures.
The sheets can be easily cut with a jigsaw and should be laid butt edge to butt edge. The acoustic mats should then be glued down to secure in place.
Sound Solution Consultants do not recommend this product for reducing Airborne Noise when used on concrete floor constructions.
