They’re designed to be laid directly onto either existing timber or concrete floors and can be fitted as part of either a batten or cradle system on those floors that require a service void.
Benefits
The upper face of the boards is made using moisture-resistant, tongue and grooved chipboard, with a form of acoustic felt used on the underside.
Measuring 28mm and 32mm thick respectively, both products are designed to damp vibration and attenuate both airborne sound and any impact noise passing through the floor. REDUC SoundFloor® 28 can be used as a structural floor on joists of up to 450mm centres, with REDUC SoundFloor® 32 suitable for those up to 600mm centres.

Boards should be glued together and laid in a brickwork fashion with staggered joints, a perimeter foam edge strip should be fitted around the edge of each room and across the door threshold. The edge foam should then be folded down on to the acoustic flooring with the skirting board then sitting on the edge foam.
The structure and design of the building can have an impact on the performance of all REDUC SoundFloor® boards. To reach their optimum performance levels, the junctions between the separating wall and floor must be detailed perfectly. If there is any incorrect detailing, then the acoustic performance can be affected.
The REDUC SoundFloor® range can be used in almost any space, including kitchens and bathrooms.
