There are a number of different benefits to ScreedBoard. It is known for having a strong and consistent effect on noise from both impact and airborne sources. Measuring only 28mm thick, it can suit concrete, timber and steel floors, and can be used for both new build and refurbished buildings. The slim design is ideal for helping to minimise the impact on floor height.
Screedboard can also accept a wide variety of floor finishes, such as ceramic tiles, Amtico vinyl, wooden laminate and carpet, providing it is installed according to manufacturers’ instructions.

Installation of the ScreedBoard 28 is relatively easy. The interlocking edge detail means that the boards can click together, removing the need for screws, and the boards themselves are easy to cut.
Boards should be glued together and laid in a brickwork fashion with staggered joints, a perimeter foam edge strip should be fitted around the edge of each room and across the door threshold. The edge foam should then be folded down on to the acoustic flooring with the skirting board then sitting on the edge foam.
The structure and design of the building can have an impact on the performance of all acoustic boards. To reach their optimum performance levels, the junctions between the separating wall and floor must be detailed perfectly. If there is any incorrect detailing, then the acoustic performance can be affected.
Screedboard can be used in almost any space, including kitchens and bathrooms.
